Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for managing the individualized patient care by promoting and restoring patients' health through the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; and supervising assigned team members.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Education/Experience: Graduated from an accredited educational institution and Current Montana license. Technical Skills: 1. Strong critical thinking and organizational skills. 2. Ability to execute multiple tasks with minimal supervision. 3. Able to interact with a wide variety of individuals and situations competently, effectively and courteously. 4. Physical ability to assist with lifting, transferring and positioning patients and to quickly respond to and accommodate unexpected patient safety and medical emergencies. 5. Computer skills including use of Outlook. 6. Proficiency in use of Electronic Health Record. Other qualifications/certificate/license: BLS, ACLS required within 6 months of hire and TNCC required within 1 year of hire. DECISION MAKING LATITUDE: Employee works independently, refers questions to Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Documents in the chart all clinical findings in an accurate and timely manner as required by regulatory mandate to maintain compliance with hospital and nursing policies and procedures. 2. Utilizes bedside barcode scanning for administration of medications. 3. Demonstrates ability to perform unit specific competencies to include the performance of nursing treatments and provision of clinical services. 4. Notifies all appropriate individuals with changes in a patients’ condition. 5. Provides individualized patient/family education customized to the patient and his/her family. 6. Performs direct patient care, using established procedures, policies and standards. 7. Ability to implement and revise plan of care including discharge plans indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate the care plan for effectiveness. 8. Maintain a clean, neat and safe environment for patient and staff according to policy and procedure. 9. Attend all mandatory staff meetings. 10. Completion of all mandatory training/competencies 11. Demonstrates ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise and professional manner. 12. Other duties as assigned. Disclaimer: – Not all inclusive – other duties as assigned.
