Job Description

Under the indirect supervision of the, Systems Director of Imaging and Therapeutics and in cooperation with the Radiologists, Administers finical, physical, and human resources to provide medical services in the Radiology department. Monitors department operations to assure compliance with the hospital strategic plan, government regulations, and standards established by accrediting agencies.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

Required:

Graduate of an Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited radiology program or equivalent required.
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in radiology or equivalent.
BS degree in Radiology, Health Care Administration, or similar field

Required:

5 years supervisory experience in a Hospital Radiology department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

50% Time Spent -
Oversees, through the department supervisors, provide overall counsel to all areas that provide imaging services and PACS team duties to include support of facilities contracting PACS, archive, and dictation services.

10% Time Spent -
Participates in selection, evaluation, counseling, and termination Radiology staff respecting established personnel policies.

15% Time Spent -
Represents the department regarding institutional meetings, activities, external agencies, and organizations.

15% Time Spent -
Participates in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of the hospital quality indicators, as described in the strategic plan.

10% Additional Job Functions
Prepares and monitors operational and capital expenditure budget.
Recommends, purchases capital equipment, and physical plant improvements.
Recommends short and long term goals, develops objectives, and participates in long range planning for the department.
Provides avenues for practical instruction, in-service, and continuing education.
Addresses and responds to concerns and grievances received from patients and their family, physicians, and staff
Stroke Competency (if employee works acute care setting): Complies with hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines related to care for patients with hyper acute and acute stroke.
Participates in two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education by November 1, 2018, or within one year of hire.
Participates in one hour annually of cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education..
