Job Description

This position exists to provide excellent physical therapy services. The purpose of this position is to evaluate patients, establish and implement a plan of care based upon evaluation findings, and provide health and wellness education to the Gallatin Valley.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

Required:

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program. Degree may be Bachelor's, Master's, or Clinical Doctorate (DPT)

Preferred:

LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION

Required:

Licensed with the State of Montana Department of Labor and Industry

Current CPR card (only accepting Health Care Provider and Proffessional Rescuer) within 1 month of hire

Two years of physical therapy experience preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
25% Time Spent - Evaluates physical and functional status of patients and establishes & implements appropriate plan of care within the scope of Physical Therapy Practice.
20% Time Spent - Documents initial evaluations, re-evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, education and focus notes on appropriate form within compliance of BDH Rehab policies.
15% Time Spent - Educates patients, families, and caregivers in strategies to manage pain, improve safety and function and educate re: individualized plan of care. Documents appropriately.
10% Time Spent - Identifies issues re: patient safety and follows through with processes to accomplish safety for all involved. (family, caregiver, patient)
10% Time Spent - Abides by BDH's policies re: Infection Control
20% Time Spent - ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Operates and maintains equipment in an appropriate and safe manner

Attends in-services and continuing education on a regular basis

Continually updates skills in new techniques and modalities

Actively promotes the hospital rehab department in the community and to physicians

Communication with staff, nursing, co-workers and physicians to allow for efficient patient care.

Assigns duties to and monitors non-professional staff, participates in training of new staff.

Tasks assigned by the Rehab Manager.
