This position exists for the purpose of maintaining a clean, sanitary patient environment for each assigned area.
Ability to read, perform basic math, write and follow verbal and written directions
High School diploma or equivalent
LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION
Serv-Safe Manager Certification within 4 months of hire
1-2 years environmental services experience and 6 months previous institutuional or large volume food service and preparation experience preferred
Environmental Service Worker:
15% Time Spent - Thoroughly cleans all surfaces daily.
5% Time Spent - Checks and restocks all paper product dispensers daily.
5% Time Spent - Empties and cleans wastebaskets daily
10% Time Spent - Dry and damp mops floors in assigned areas daily.
10% Time Spent - Vacuums areas of responsibility daily.
10% Time Spent - Cleans showers and bathrooms daily.
5% Time Spent - Removes garbage in assigned areas daily.
5% Time Spent - Delivers and picks up linen as needed.
10% Time Spent - Cleans all non-patient areas daily or as needed.
5% Time Spent - Cleans linen rooms as needed.
20% Time Spent - Maintains a good relationship with co-workers, other departments, physicians, physician Staff, patients, visitors and other members of the public.
Communicates effectively verbally or in writing, by phone or face to face.
Maintains or assists in maintaining the department inventory of supplies and equipment.
Utilizes proper body mechanics.
Uses proper safety equipment and signs when needed.
Utilizes proper physical safety skills in preventing physical injury.
Complies with policies and procedures of Bozeman Deaconess Hospital.

Maintains a responsible attitude toward Bozeman Deaconess Hospital, the Environmental Services Department and all patients, visitors and staff.

60% Time Spent - Prepares food for patients, processes and delivers orders for nutrition services as requested.
20% Time Spent - Participates in dish room and completes assigned cleaning.
5% Time Spent - Completes food production records, records department statistics and other information.
5% Time Spent - Manages inventory, including checking for expiration dates, and ordering through Sysco.
5% Time Spent - Puts inventory away per standard operating procedures in dry storage, refrigerators, freezers, service areas
5% Time Spent - Monitors and logs temperature tracking through temp trak for refrigerators and freezers. Monitors and logs temperature tracking of dishwasher temperatures.
