The ANCC Magnet Recognition program describes the Components of Magnetism thought to be attributes or outcomes that exemplify excellence in nursing service. The journey toward Nursing Excellence is a journey for the whole organization at Bozeman Deaconess Health Services

The Nursing Magnet Program Manager is responsible for coordinating activities required to attain and maintain ANCC Magnet status. This includes, but is not limited to, providing education to nurses about Magnet Recognition, coordination and facilitation of Magnet Work Teams, acting as a resource for the Shared Governance Councils and Journal Clubs, coordinating an assessment of Magnet readiness/gap analysis, submitting the application for Magnet Recognition, verifying that all requirements are met, and designing and implementing a process to maintain Magnet performance requirements, in anticipation of future re-application for Magnet status. Facilitates and oversees the preparation of documentation, policies, research and informational sessions relative to maintaining magnet status for Bozeman Deaconess Health Services.
REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

Required:

BSN

Preferred:

MSN

LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION

Required:

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Montana

Preferred:

EXPERIENCE

Required:

5 years nursing experience
Experience and proven success with in-depth knowledge of Magnet Standards, evidence-based projects and regulatory requirements

Preferred:

3-5 years experience in a management position; 1-3 years experience in a Magnet Facility; Experience in the development of a Magnet program through accreditation

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

50% Time Spent -
Coordinating all activities required to attain and maintain ANCC Magnet status.

25% Time Spent -
Directs alignment of all activities within the Magnet Sources of Evidence with specific outcomes metrics

10% Time Spent -
Acting as Magnet Program resource to all Leadership and Unit-based Councils

10% Time Spent -
Education of clinical staff on components of Magnet Program

5% Time Spent -
Provides quarterly and annual report of key nursing sensitive outcome indicators
